Senior Merchandiser

Aflalo is a modern luxury brand rooted in elegance, opulence, and bold femininity. At Aflalo, fabric is where the brand is made. Every collection begins with the material: its weight, hand, drape, and story. We work with the finest mills and ateliers in the world, and we're looking for a Senior Merchandiser to own two things: the material foundation of the brand across all categories, and our denim business, an established and growing part of the assortment. This is a rare seat for someone who loves product deeply and wants to operate at the intersection of fabric, commerce, and design, with a clear path to expand scope as the brand scales.
Responsibilities
Fabric Strategy

Partner with Design and Merchandising to define the seasonal fabric direction, color palette, and print strategy across all categories

Build and manage the fabric assortment with a clear point of view, balancing quality, hand feel, and budget

Translate creative vision into a beautiful cohesive, commercially sound material assortment season over season
Purchasing & Budget Management

Own fabric purchasing in partnership with the Head of Merchandising, including vendor allocation, order placement, and financial tracking

Plan seasonal fabric buys against an Open-to-Buy (OTB), monitor consumption, and manage reorders to ensure timely availability

Negotiate directly with premier mills and suppliers on pricing, minimums, and timelines
Denim Category Ownership

Own the denim assortment from strategy through execution, including line planning, seasonal buys, and SKU management

Analyze selling, identify trends, and react to performance to maximize category potential

Partner with Design on assortment opportunities and gaps each season

Manage denim OTB in alignment with the broader merchandising plan
Supplier Partnership

Maintain and strengthen relationships with top mills and suppliers, primarily across Europe

Partner with an external sourcing consultant to identify and onboard new suppliers that meet Aflalo’s quality and strategic standards
Cross-Functional Leadership

Serve as the central point of contact for Design, Product Development, Production, Finance, and Merchandising on all fabric matters

Track fabric orders from placement through delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proactive resolution of any issues
Inventory & Reporting

Maintain visibility into fabric inventory, usage, and liabilities across seasons

Track consumption and carryover to inform planning and reduce waste

Provide structured reporting to the Head of Merchandising on spend, risks, and opportunities
Profile

6–8 years of merchandising experience in luxury or contemporary fashion

Strong product instinct and genuine appreciation for exceptional materials, craftsmanship, and design

Demonstrated experience owning budgets, seasonal buys, and purchasing execution

Commercially minded, highly organized, and detail-oriented

Confident, collaborative communicator, comfortable operating cross-functionally and with external partners

Fabric or materials knowledge is a plus; deep merchandising instincts and a love of product matter more
